With a whole new branding taglined recently as the “World’s Best Biriyani”, Aasife biriyani is sure to pull any biriyani lover’s attention towards the restaurant. Does the biriyani spice up to the tagline? What makes it so special? Let’s read on to find out more.
Personally, more than the biriyani, it is the man behind it which makes this restaurant more special. A perfect example of evolving from “Rags to Riches”, Mr. Aasife Ahmed evokes a true inspiration for anyone who wants to become an entrepreneur in the biryani business single handedly. From a thallu vandi(Pushcart) investment of 4000 Rs in 1999 to a 70+ crore business and 25+outlets, Aasife’s growth is phenomenal.
Recalling his own lines “It was my love for cooking, the desire to achieve something big in life, hard work, and my self confidence that contributed to my growth.” He adds that people need to learn the art of cooking first before venturing cooking business into a bigger scale – he worked under veteran cooks to keep learning. Though he studied not beyond 9th grade, his passion towards biryani and aiming for the pinnacle is what kept him going.
Having seen the speciality part of the restaurant, we would focus now to the core – Aasife Biryani and the taste of it. Chicken biryani is the most favourite and best seller amongst other varieties. Though appearance and tasting wise, the biryani may not be super unique, but it tastes so fresh with the raita and curry and the pieces are quite tender and good. Basmati rice is used here and the whole freshness aspect as the restaurant claims is due to meticulous selection of all of the key ingredients that go into the biriyani – chilly, ginger, curd, garlic, spices, mint leaves, rice et al.
Quantity is sufficient for one, and the restaurant has a great ambience to supplement the delicacy. Grill chicken and Chicken 65, lollypop here would be a cool recommend for a greater wholesome experience alongside biryani.
