“We Are Cult” That’s how an elated group shout-out happens at the end of a CULT session.
First up, you all must be noticing that there is an array of Cult fit following in Bengaluru with the fitness startup expanding more than 20 centers in our very own garden city.
The speciality of this fitness centre is that they don’t have the traditional gym setup but a completely new (Group) workout floor which packs up a variety of exercises right from S&C – Strength & Conditioning, HIIT – High Intensity Training to Yoga, Dance Fitness, Boxing and even cool formats like HRX (Hrithik Roshan Workout), Prowl (Tiger Shroff’s) Etc.
Wondering Why am I Speaking about Cult Now?
I go back to the First Statement – We are Cult. Is it just for an Exercise? Oh, A big No! There is a similar – in fact a huge Cult following for the one and only food of India, the BIRYANI (Don’t you agree?)
And when a Cult food like Biryani is spiced up in variety similar to the cult fit workouts? The magic happens | Royalty is enriched. And this is precisely what’s done by the Hotel Nandhana Palace at Bangalore.
They Call it the “Biryani Thaali” – Yup, 5 Biryanis in one Go!
And What are the biryanis in the dream platter? There is Nellore Mutton Biryani, Supreme Chicken Biryani, Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani, Veg Biryani(Why man!?) and Nati Kodi {country chicken} Biryani.
I happen to relish this Biryani Thali on a special occasion, Where I joined 100+ folks who shared the same passion for #BiryaniLove. The Bengaluru Biryani Club’s 2nd anniversary gathering got us together under one roof to Hotel Nandhana Palace. For folks who aren’t much familiar with the BBiC club(Fondly Abbreviated), this is one amazing destination group for bringing all of the cult biryani lovers TOGETHER. From organising yummy gatherings of select biryani restaurants to encouraging biryani-hot discussions in the 16K+ Facebook forum, this group is a great TOGETHERNESS for Biryani Fans! (FB Link)
Now, Without much ado, straight to the taste part of namma biryani thali. The Mutton and the Chicken Biryanis(Boneless/Hyderabadi) were tasting really nice. The Nati-Kodi Biryani could have been more flavourish, Of course veg is not my plate of biryani, so refraining from comments 🙂
By the way, just to sneak into the history of Hotel Nandhana Palace, not many know that the hotel’s start + name was inspired from a tamil movie – Manathil Uruthi Vendum(Need Brave Heart).! 🙂 The founder, Dr. Ravichandar got inspired from the female lead role of the movie, Nandhini, who single handedly takes care of the entire family. Felt so relating to his life, he ventured into starting an Andhra Food Specialty restaurant in 1989 and named it “Hotel Nandhini Deluxe” in memory of Nandhini. He Served as a Managing partner there. Subsequently, by 1997 he took an independent route and renamed the hotel to “Nandhana Palace”. From then on, till now there is no stopping Dr.Ravi and the restaurant is catering steadfast to the taste buds of South Indians for more than 30 years, being one of the pioneers of Andhra Cuisine.
On the whole, The biryani thali With al-dente rice and tender meat chunks coupled with a beautiful ambience was a relishing experience at Nandhana palace, specially amidst the BBiC folks. (Thanks to Renukesh bro and to all the organisers!) The Biryani Blogger #TBB recommends that the biryani thali is certainly a worthy try for all biryani enthusiasts!!
